Ms Naomi Atkinson Senior Physiotherapist
I hold a First Class Honours Degree in Sport Science from Northumbria University and a Master’s Degree with Distinction in Physiotherapy from the University of Cumbria, where I graduated in 2020.
Upon registering with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), I began my career in the NHS, gaining experience across musculoskeletal, neurological, and medical settings at the West Cumberland Hospital and the Cumberland Infirmary. Over time, I gained a special interest in orthopaedics and musculoskeletal physiotherapy, treating patients in both in-patient and out-patient settings.
In addition to working in the NHS, I have also practiced privately at Woodlands Hospital in Darlington and currently at North Lakes Physiotherapy. I am also a Level 3 certified personal trainer and sports massage therapist, which allows me to offer a holistic approach to rehabilitation.
I am passionate about empowering clients throughout their recovery process. I believe in a patient-centered approach, where your goals and concerns guide our treatment.

Mr Jason Hill
I’m a Chartered Physiotherapist with a specialist interest in musculoskeletal (MSK) rehabilitation, sports injuries, persistent pain and exercise-based recovery. I combine evidence-based physiotherapy with a strong background in strength and conditioning, massage therapy, rehabilitation and performance coaching to help people move better, recover from injury and return to the activities that matter most to them.
Alongside my role at North Lakes Physiotherapy, I work within the NHS as a Bank Physiotherapy Technical Instructor at the Cumberland Infirmary, supporting patients primarily across Orthopaedics and Neurological Rehabilitation, particularly stroke recovery. I have also worked extensively within community rehabilitation services, helping people regain strength, mobility and independence following hospitalisation.
I adopt a patient-centred approach, combining hands-on treatment, movement analysis, education and progressive exercise rehabilitation to address the underlying causes of pain and dysfunction rather than simply treating symptoms. I have a particular interest in helping individuals with back pain, shoulder problems, sporting injuries, post-operative rehabilitation and long-term musculoskeletal conditions.
Sports Massage I am qualified in Sports Massage (YMCA Level 3) and Sports Injury Treatment (Level 4). Massage therapy is frequently integrated with physiotherapy and exercise rehabilitation to help individuals recover from injury, manage training loads and optimise performance. Massage is also offered as a stand alone treatment.
Western Medical Acupuncture I use Acupuncture as part of a comprehensive physiotherapy treatment plan. Acupuncture may be used to complement physiotherapy, exercise rehabilitation and manual therapy, helping to reduce pain, improve movement and support recovery from musculoskeletal conditions. Acupuncture is also offered as a stand alone treatment, for this who don’t need physiotherapy.
Sports Taping & Injury Support I provide sports taping and strapping for both injury management and sporting events. Using a range of taping techniques including Zinc Oxide Tape, Dynamic Tape and Kinesiology Tape to support injured tissues, improve movement confidence and assist return to activity.
I have completed professional training in: Physiotherapy BSc (Hons) (MCSP/HCPC) Cognitive Functional Therapy for Low Back Pain Shoulder Rehabilitation with Adam Meakins Acupuncture & Dry Needling Sports Massage Therapy (Level 3 & 4) Sports Taping and Injury Management Personal Training and Exercise Prescription (Level 2 & 3)
